About Josie Kelly
With over 30 years in the investment business, Ms.
Kelly reads and studies extensively. As a short- to intermediate-term
trader, she consults numerous information sources and uses various
investment-tracking systems. She looks for levels of activity that
differ significantly from past performance within a given timeframe – it’s
not uncommon for her to be watching several computer terminals and
using proprietary programs to track the market on any given trading
day.
“Much of my success is based on extensive study
and the ability to take advantage of the opportunities I recognize,” says
Ms. Kelly.
In order to work successfully at this level of concentration
and make continuous sound decisions, Ms. Kelly draws upon personal
resources that include a balanced life in beautiful surroundings with
an office in the mountains of Southern California
Ms Kelly was one of the first women in the OEX pit
on the Chicago Board Options Exchange(CBOE) in the 80s. She started
in the business in the 70s by maintaining books and records for several
market makers. Her husband, now deceased, Raymond J. Kelly, Jr., asked
her to become an associate of his company Kelco Partners, Ltd. in the
early 90s.
Her responsibilities included helping to establish and manage a clearing
firm within the organization and also co-managed a brokerage operation.
In 1993, she became an active trader of equities within the firm. Ms.
Kelly became a trading manager and revenue producer in the firm.
She had been on hiatus for several years to complete her education
and teach math and science in her local private school. Ms. Kelly has
always had a talent for recognizing patterns and trends before most
people become aware of it. As a teacher, she specialized in experiential
learning to help her students to understand and accommodate their various
learning styles.
Ms Kelly’s formal education includes a bachelor’s
degree in behavioral sciences and a master's in education from
National University. She received extensive training and coaching from
her husband, Ray Kelly, for over 30 years until his death. Mr. Kelly
was a member of the Chicago Board Options Exchange from 1973 to 1995.
He was lecturer, seminar leader and professional coach for traders
and investors.
In 1995 Ms Kelly took over management of Kelco Partners, Ltd and later
established a new firm, K & S Global, Inc. As her husband’s
health deteriorated, she closed her firm and devoted her time and energy
to help with her husband with his project The Trader’s Oasis.
Together with her children, Ray and Jennifer, they were able to help
Ray Sr. complete his book The Four Pillars of Consistently Profitable
Trading & Investing and hold seminars to help mentor traders
and investors.
During all of these years, Ms Kelly has continued to pursue her passion
of market technical studies. She has used this work to help with a
road project in her community which helped add value to her property – as
well as the properties of her surrounding neighbors. This commitment
to community has become a focus in her life.
At this time, Ms. Kelly is dedicated to developing The Trader’s
Oasis, a supportive online community that helps traders and investors
navigate the markets at such a significant time in history. Part of
this online community development includes the recent launch of TraderStream.com – a
blog providing daily market observations and personal insights through
the eyes of a veteran Market Technician. Additionally, Ms. Kelly offers
a portfolio analysis consulting service for individual traders and
investors.
